What you will do
The Associate will play a central role in executing the company’s RFP response and bilateral marketing efforts for renewable power projects and will take on increased responsibility relative to an Analyst. This role includes deeper involvement in commercial strategy, cross functional coordination, and support for power purchase agreement (PPA) and Build-Transfer Agreement (BTA) contract negotiations. The position offers direct exposure to renewable energy transactions, customer engagement, and executive level decision making.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Origination Associate to join our Utility Origination team. This group is responsible for marketing renewable energy projects to traditional load serving entities (LSEs)—including regulated utilities, municipal utilities, and cooperatives—supporting EDPR NA’s Eastern Development Pipeline.
Main responsibilities:
- Support bilateral project marketing by preparing client facing materials, participating in utility meetings, and helping manage ongoing customer relationships.
- Support PPA contract negotiation efforts, including reviewing term sheets, tracking key commercial issues, coordinating internal inputs, and supporting negotiation strategy under the direction of Origination leadership.
- Lead the RFP response process from intake through submission, including schedule management, data collection, content development, reviews, and final delivery.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal workstreams (development, finance, engineering, legal, tax, and others) to gather inputs and ensure alignment on commercial proposals.
- Draft, edit, and format proposal materials and commercial summaries to meet high standards of accuracy, clarity, and professionalism for external counterparties and regulators.
- Track and manage multiple concurrent RFPs and bilateral opportunities, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are coordinated across teams.
- Lead market research and origination strategy, including monitoring utility integrated resource plans (IRPs), RFP schedules, regulatory developments, and competitive market activity.
- Prepare internal briefing materials and present progress updates, risks, and recommendations to Origination leadership and senior management.
- Maintain and improve proposal databases, standard templates, and internal best practices to support efficient execution of future opportunities.

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidate should possess a BS/BA degree
- 2–4 years of professional experience, preferably in renewable energy, power markets, infrastructure, finance, consulting, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior management and external customers.
- High attention to detail and ability to synthesize technical, commercial, and financial inputs into clear and concise materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with project management or CRM tools is a plus.
- Interest in renewable energy markets and the transition to a low carbon energy system; prior exposure to PPAs, utility procurement processes, or energy contracting is a plus but not required
