Manager, Quality Control

Role Summary

This role manages a team to ensure projects are completed and delivered with required quality before COD.

Responsibilities

1.    Quality Management Plan

• Develop and take ownership of the Quality Management Plan. 
• Develop and implement quality control processes for Singapore, with potential of regional implementation. 
• Manage and ensure that contractors and vendors are aware of all project quality control standards.
• Review project specific quality and technical specifications to ensure reasonableness and ensure implementation.

2.    Material Management

• Manage Factory Acceptance Tests for key equipment.
• Manage, verify and document all materials/equipment received for the projects.

3.    Site Inspection 

• Plan and conduct site QC inspections as per QMP, ITPs, specifications and contract documents.
• Report deficiencies as appropriate and elevating issues as needed to ensure quality.
• Verify PV system against as-built drawings to ensure that they are current, and that deviations are captured/rectified.
• Clearly document and manage all non-conformances and punchlists according to the QMP.
• Activate rectification team or relevant Contractor(s) to rectify the identified defects and follow up closely. 
• Conduct re-inspections accordingly. 

4.    Quality Reporting

• Prepare and submit periodic Quality reports and statistics. 
• Evaluate contractors and vendors’ quality performance.

5.    Others

• Lead and carry out investigations on defects and failures using tools & techniques such as Root Cause Analyses (RCA), Failure Mode & Effect Analyses (FMEA) and 8D Reports.
• Prepare training materials and conduct training for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and take ownership of the department’s Continual Improvement roadmap.

Requirements

Academic Level: Bachelor or Graduate Degree in Engineering

Required Professional experience: 5-7 years of electrical QC experience and leading teams of QCs, with at least 2 years in the solar industry.  

Specific knowledge: Strong knowledge of quality standards for DG photovoltaic projects (rooftops, ground mount, and floating PV), and the related standards or codes of practices (e.g. SS / TR, IEC, EN, BS).

Skills / Competencies:  Problem Solving Skills / Strong communication and project management skills. Excellent data interpretation, Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills. Strong integrity, morals and ethics.

Languages: Proficient in English. Any additional languages would be an advantage.
