Role Summary:
The Senior Associate will support the APAC M&A team in evaluating and advancing renewable energy opportunities across wind, solar, and hybrid (co-located solar, wind, and BESS) projects. The role will support the end-to-end investment process, including opportunity screening, due diligence coordination, financial modelling, commercial analysis, revenue structuring, and deal execution across multiple markets.
The Senior Associate will also play a critical role in maintaining analytical rigor, structuring internal workflows, and supporting the preparation of high-quality presentation materials for internal decision-making and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Financial Modelling & Commercial Analysis
- Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models for renewable and hybrid energy projects (wind, solar, BESS, and co-located assets).
- Analyse complex revenue streams including PPAs, merchant exposure, ancillary services, capacity markets, and hybrid optimisation strategies.
- Evaluate project economics under different structuring options.
- Conduct market and strategic research to support sourcing initiatives and identify investment opportunities across the renewable energy landscape.
Transaction & Development Support
- Work closely with business development, legal, technical, and commercial teams to support project evaluation, bids, and negotiations.
- Contribute to investment memos, internal approvals, and due diligence materials.
- Lead specific workstreams independently across the transaction lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs.
Presentation & Team Support
- Prepare clear, concise, and high-quality presentation materials for senior management and investment committees.
- Maintain standardised templates, ensure consistency in assumptions, and improve internal documentation and modelling discipline.
- Support the team in organising information, tracking key workstreams, and ensuring structured communication across projects.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, investment banking, or advisory.
- Strong financial modelling capability (Excel-based models essential).
- Solid understanding of renewable energy project economics and revenue drivers.
- Familiarity with APAC energy markets is highly desirable.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex datasets and multiple assumptions.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in preparing clear and impactful presentation materials.
