This role is to assist in reviewing, monitoring, and managing China entities’ tax compliance, including tax audits and ad-hoc advisory for China entities.
This role requires occasional travels between our local China entities as well as travelling to the local tax offices in the different provinces where our local China entities are located in.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control tax compliance, tax accounting and tax reporting activities for China region. This includes review, managing and monitoring of all China entities’ direct and indirect taxes.
- Build up internal controls and processes to support and improve the efficiency and accuracy of China tax return filings.
- To anticipate areas of change and bring forward ideas to influence and improve the China tax compliance process.
- Assist with the preparation of responses to China Tax authorities’ queries. Interfacing with the China Tax Authorities and maintaining a good working relationship with the Authorities.
- Handle and answer to information or reporting requirements from management.
- Ensure that the financial information for China taxes in the internal and external reporting documentation processes is accurate and provides a true and fair representation of the assets and liabilities of the local entities.
- Work collaboratively with business areas across the Group such as Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Corporate Development, Business development, etc.
- Ensure compliance with Sunseap Group’s Transfer Pricing policies; work collaboratively with business areas in the reinforcement of the Transfer Pricing policies.

Provide China tax technical support and ad-hoc tax advisory to Business units’ queries.

Evaluation of issues and advising on any China tax-related issues (e.g., projects, suppliers and customers tax queries, reporting, compliance, tax planning, tax risk management).

Provide support to Group-wide initiatives aiming to achieve a sustainable effective tax rate (at a consolidated and country level).

Follow China legislative changes and monitor their respective impact in the Group operations.

Review internal and external documents which contain any tax or potentially tax-relevant data or content for China.

Lead a diversity of China tax planning activities together with Senior Regional Tax Manager and the Business Units.

Support and secure China tax inputs in M&A projects of the Group.

Assist in the development of processes to improve coordination of inter-disciplinary teams to anticipate tax risks and opportunities for Sunseap business in China.

Identify and implement potential China subsidies and other China tax incentives at the project specific level by fostering a close relationship between the Tax Team and business areas.

Promote initiatives that streamline processes for collecting China tax receivables (i.e., VAT), in coordination with Finance reporting.
Requirements

Bachelor of Accountancy or equivalent

At least 3-4 years tax experience and prior experience in Big 4

Good knowledge of the China tax System and international Tax
