​​Actively manage and execute the projects (mainly in Photovoltaic and BESS but also in Wind Power Plants) in coordination with the Engineering & Construction team, corporate teams and owner’s engineering. 

​ 

​Support the construction bidding process, from the preparation of the technical specification to the final award of the contract, ensuring the best technical and commercial conditions. 

​ 

​Coordinate teams of Construction Managers/Engineers and Site Managers either on-site and office  in Management of the Construction process of Photovoltaic / Wind / BESS  Power Plants and associated infrastructures (i.e HV Infrastructures,…) in the different phases of construction: from the contracting process to the handover to Operation and Maintenance, in accordance with the Business Plan and guidelines of the APAC E&C Department, ensuring compliance with the project in terms of costs, deadlines, quality standards and HSE, contributing to optimize the commercial operation.

​This role will also be a key player in improving the Construction Team, supporting platform initiatives which have a real impact in Projects across APAC region. 

 

  • CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT: Plan the pipeline's executive schedule for future projects, ensuring information to Project Managers in the management of critical project dates. Plan the entire construction, assuming total. Knowledge of development applications, conditions of consent and planning/construction and build permits and certificates to plan and oversee the entire construction, taking full responsibility for all aspects of project management, including contract management, execution, , engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, cost/margins, schedule. Ensure the correct handover of the Project to the Asset Management/O&M department.  

 

  • QUALITY MANAGEMENT: Capability to conduct site visits to review and monitor progress and ensure adherence to quality standards, hold points, defect reporting, construction verification in accordance with engineering designs and checklists. 

 

  • WORK, HEALTH AND SAFETY: Ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the workplace with knowledge of construction-based SWMS, SWIs, JHAs, WHS management plans and policies with the ability to conduct and direct prestart checks and toolbox talks etc 

 

  • CONTRACTUAL MANAGEMENT: Manage the contracts related to the construction of the Project, from the planning to the closing of these contracts, establishing an effective relationship with all the teams involved in the project and in the contracts, to ensure compliance with the conditions, deadlines, costs and technical requirements. 

 

  • TEAM MANAGEMENT: Disseminate construction management standards and processes among and with the team, training new professionals and ensuring performance levels. Ensure compliance with the technical requirements of the Project's teams and facilities to ensure the proper performance of their functions and contracted technical specifications. 

 

  • COST MANAGEMENT: Control the Project and Portfolio budget, keeping track of costs incurred and managing the forecast of disbursements throughout the Implementation, as well as ensuring the follow-up of the approved DoA and the mapping of deviations. 

 

  • RISK MANAGEMENT: Develop risk management and mitigation strategies to deal with Subcontractors, NSPs, regulatory bodies, government and utility authorities and other issues. Implement contingency planning and recovery when necessary. 

 

  • REPORTING: Ensure accurate and ongoing reporting of project progress to senior management. 

 

  • TECHNICAL COLLABORATION: Provide technical support to promotion/bid management and tendering activities and competitions in the phases prior to the beginning of the Project execution, to ensure the best development of these activities. 

 

  • COMPANY POLICIES AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Promote, propose, and control Work, Health and Safety, environmental and quality policies, in order to ensure their application and legal compliance and the continuous development of the Business Unit's activities. 

 

  • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: During construction, ensuring local support and respective management during the construction phase. 

 

  • EDPR'S INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION: Represent EDPR before public and private institutions and entities within its scope of competence, giving priority to EDPR's interests, in order to promote the brand and its position vis-à-vis the competition. 

Requirements:

  • ​​Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)/Civil Engineering or similar.  

  • ​MBA in Project Management and /or PMP Certification (a plus). 

  • ​At least 10 years’ experience in project management/construction of wind farms and/ or PV Plants, including corresponding substations and high voltages lines. Experience with BESS systems (stand alone and/or AC/DC coupled) 

  • ​Experience in managing and supervision of engineering & construction projects.  

  • ​Experience in coordination and planning internal teams and external contractors, consultants and suppliers.  

  • ​Renewable Energy and/or Power utility experience is preferred. 

  • ​Knowledge of WHS and Safe Work Australia codes of practice 

  • ​Value alignment: proactiveness and problem-solving skills, collaboration, innovation and with a spirit of excellence, business orientation. 

  • ​Adaptability, resilience and willing to learn new ways of communication and working methodology. 

  • ​Construction white card and first aid certificate 

  • ​Valid Driver licence 

  • ​Willing to be on-site under the Project’s demand. 

  • ​​Strong knowledge of local building codes, standards, regulations, and permitting processes 

  • ​Knowledge of grid connection process a plus 

  • ​AutoCad, ArcGIS a plus 

  • ​ Commissioning and testing of PV, BESS substation and wind assets. 

  • ​Microsoft Office, project

  • ​Common Data Environment​
