Health and Safety Engineer (HSE/SST)

Main responsibilities:
- Providing technical support in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) across different projects and operations.
- Reviewing and validating safety documentation, conducting audits, inspections and site visits, supporting teams in the implementation of legal and corporate requirements.
- Participating in the investigation of accidents and incidents, and promoting prevention, awareness and continuous improvement initiatives.

What are we looking for:
- University degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field.
- Professional certification as a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician (Técnico Superior de Segurança no Trabalho) or eligibility to obtain it.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices and applicable legal requirements in Portugal.
- Availability for frequent travel within Portugal.
- Driving licence.
- Good knowledge of Portuguese and English.
- Professional experience in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) roles.
- Experience in the energy, industrial, construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing OHS requirements for tender specifications and procurement processes.
- Experience in reviewing and validating OHS documentation, including Health and Safety Plans (PSS), Work Safety Procedures (FPS), risk assessments and applicable legal documentation.
- Knowledge of Fire Safety in Buildings (SCIE).
- Ability to prepare and deliver OHS training, awareness and communication initiatives.
- Experience in the investigation and analysis of accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Knowledge of risk management, safety audits and inspections.
- Knowledge of OHS management systems (ISO 45001).
- Knowledge of Spanish.
- Knowledge of risks associated with electrical works and the energy sector.
