Project Development Associate (West)

What you will do

Role Overview:

Exciting entry-level leadership role at the cutting edge of the renewable energy industry. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position at the center of project management and renewable energy development. The Project Development Associate works closely with experienced experts in every domain of the utility-scale renewable energy industry (wind and solar and battery storage). The PD supports the development of projects from early-stage site-identification all the way through permitting and construction. The PD is responsible for handling complex tasks and supporting Project Managers on multiple projects. The PD interacts daily with a diversity of internal project teams and external landowners, community stakeholders and public officials in various project areas. Main responsibilities:

• Identify and oversee the development of large-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects by creating and updating project maps and databases using GIS tools
• Represent EDPRNA in the field, working with Project Managers and landowners to create, negotiate, and amend agreements, options, leases, and land sales
• Engage in community outreach and stakeholder management activities
• Organize and attend educational and networking events
• Conduct land, market, regulatory, and related project research
• Compile documentation, attend meetings, conduct necessary studies, and perform other tasks as needed to obtain permits at the local, state, and federal level
• Assist with efforts to secure critical transmission and interconnection contracts from utilities and transmission providers
• Prepare proposals that are submitted to power purchasers including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial & industrial customers
• Support internal reporting and project tracking efforts
• Additional duties as required

What are we looking for

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
• 1 – 2 years of progressively responsible project management or development experience in energy or a related industry
• Strong knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and Google Earth software preferred
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software with strong Excel skills preferred
• Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise. (Preferred).

Travel:

Up to 65%. Driver’s License required.

Physical demands & working conditions:

• Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
•  Walking: Ability to walk .5 to 2 miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on project sites.
• Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form
• Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
• Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
