What you will do:

  • Monitoring the evolution of power prices in the different EDP geographies and analyzing the different drivers behind its behavior. Preparing and presenting monitoring reports to multiple stakeholders within the company, including top management;
  • Developing and maintaining tools that allow to have a continued and automated monitoring of the evolution of power prices and main drivers (fuels, demand, generation, etc);
  • Developing EDP's short-term and long-term power price forecasts: contribute to build EDP's view of the evolution of the energy mix, demand and ultimately power prices for the different internal processes (analysis of investments, budget, etc.). Be a proficient user of the internal/market tools necessary for the development of the forecasts;
  • Analyzing and forecasting other relevant inputs for the evaluation of RES/ESS assets (guarantees of origin, imbalance costs, ancillary services etc);
  • Extracting strategic insights from the analysis of past and future market behaviors in order to guide project development strategies across EDP geographies.

What are we looking for:

  • Master's degree (second cycle of Bologna) in Engineering;
  • Between 1 and 5 years’ experience in a similar role (prospective/markets modelling department in an electricity/RES company or expert consulting companies);
  • Relevant experience in Plexos, Aurora, Bid3 or other power price forecasting tools highly valuable;
  • Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory;
  • Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese is a plus;
  • Domain Microsoft Office package, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point;
  • Strong analytical skills, well-rounded modelling capabilities;
  • Proficient communication skills;
  • Proactivity and entrepreneurship.
