Hydrogen Project Development and Execution Lead Engineer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Coordinate and perform all necessary tasks to ensure renewable hydrogen projects development from lead up to handover to operations, including:
- Conceptual and technoeconomic analysis
- Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies
- Engineering coordination
- Procurement strategy and supervision
- Negotiation and contracting
- Installation, construction and commission supervision
- Licensing coordination
- Funding application and management
- Stakeholders and partners management
- Off-taking supervision
Liaise and coordinate all internal interfaces, within H2BU and with other relevant areas within EDPR/EDP, relative to the project:
- Renewable energy sourcing
- Regulation and government affair
- Partnership management
- Corporate procurement
- Engineering and technical support
Liaise and coordinate the external interfaces such as engineering service providers, plant suppliers, contractors, funding entities, licensing and regulatory entities, authorities, local stakeholders, etc.
Coordinate junior engineers working for the project, promoting their training and skills’ development.
Support PD&E management in the organization of transversal activities.
The scope of the preceding activities will include not only green hydrogen, but all downstream vectors like ammonia, e-fuels, etc.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop the project design and perform required studies
- Assess and review project requirements and technological options
- Present and discuss project solutions with potential partners and hydrogen offtakers
- Propose the definition of project budgets and schedules
- Perform technoeconomic evaluation of projects and define their business case
- Manage internal and external consultants and service providers, namely RES integration from EDPR and H2 system engineering
- Establish procurement strategy and supervise procurement following the technical specification defined by engineering team
- Obtain all permits, licenses, and authorizations required to develop hydrogen projects assigned
- Monitor compliance to applicable regulation
- Manage project implementation

REQUIREMENTS
ACADEMIC SKILLS: University Degree in engineering
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: ~5 years of relevant experience, namely in similar roles (business development, project management, etc.). Knowledge of energy markets and power generation technologies. Experience in working in multidisciplinary project teams and dealing with external stakeholders (e.g., contractors, technology providers, authorities, clients, etc.). Experience in hydrogen/gas projects will be considered a plus.
