Associate Director of Investments and M&A

What you will do
Role Overview:
The Investments and M&A Director will be responsible for managing the Investments & M&A team, with a focus on the implementation of M&A / investment opportunities, including negotiation with different counterparties, coordinating projects’ financial analysis, partnership tax modeling, and providing transactional and valuation support to origination efforts emerging from other areas of the company.
Main responsibilities:
- Implement strategy for growing business opportunities and company sales, both through M&A, channel and strategic partnerships;
- Managing and executing M&A transactions, at different maturity stages, leading on all deal execution, including due diligence, modelling, valuations, and management of both internal resources and third-party advisors including legal, accounting, lenders, and others;
- Identifying targets that meet EDPR’s strategic criteria and specific financial/operational metrics;
- Developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, developers, banks / advisors / financial intermediaries, and consultants, to ensure participation in relevant market opportunities;
- Principal negotiations of transactions and their key documents;
- Overseeing and managing due diligence processes executed by junior team members;
- Managing and enabling direct reports to complete their tasks in timely and efficient manners;
- Performing certain due diligence processes directly;
- Coordinating preparation of required documents for investment approval processes;
- Driving M&A transactions to their closes;
- Supporting capital markets efforts in tax equity and debt structuring, including tax equity modelling;
- Reviewing financial models used in the valuation of new deals, both from the M&A team or arising from other business areas, such as Greenfield, Business Development or Community Solar, namely for Investment Decisions / Approvals;
- Maintaining template financial models and form documents for the team’s use.
- Supporting other teams using the template financial models in potential modelling issues or questions;
- Preparing supplemental company reports as required by executive or C-level members of the firm;
- Ensuring collaboration with construction, engineering, development, and asset management, as well as other DG and EDP teams

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
- 7-10 years of investments or M&A experience with energy generation projects;
- 3-5 years of complex financial analysis and modelling;
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position;
- Master of Business Administration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a mathematics
Travel:
Up to 25%

Salary hiring range: $160,000 - $210,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of many compensation, benefits, and other reward opportunities we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect most of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
