What you will do

Role Overview:

The Accounting Analyst will provide project accounting and reporting assistance related to EDPR NA Distributed Generation’s operating solar projects and projects under construction.  

Main responsibilities:

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in SAP enterprise software for operational and development projects in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (U.S. GAAP) 
  • Analyze relevant contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment  
  • Prepare reconciliations to properly support account balances 
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analyses 
  • Develop reports for financial and managerial reporting, forecasting, trending, and results analysis 
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions 
  • Assist with preparation of documents for annual financial statement audits 
  • Recommend improvements in policies and procedures 
  • Collaborate with internal clients including Project Controls, Finance, and Tax 
  • Additional duties as required

What are we looking for

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 0-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ability to create and understand pivot tables and data filters. 
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of the following US GAAP and IFRS accounting topics: leases, fixed assets and construction accounting, revenue recognition, accounting for debt and equity transactions.
  • Experience with a 10-business day or less month-end close process.
  • Experience corresponding with and preparing supporting workpapers for independent auditors.

Salary hiring range: $80,000-$95,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of many compensation, benefits, and other reward opportunities we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect most of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
