What you will do
Role Overview:
The Construction Sr Associate is responsible to manage and oversee construction of commercial scale of distribution generation projects, ensuring adherence to project requirements in schedule, cost, and quality. This position involves proactive risk tracking and communication with stakeholders.
Main responsibilities:
Project Development Support:
- Assist in completing preliminary engineering specifications and construction contracts for assigned projects.
- Contribute to developing detailed project management strategies, including implementation plans, budgets, and schedules.
Project Oversight:
- Ensure regular project variance analysis reporting to senior management for key risks, costs, and schedules.
- Manage integration of development and execution functions for assigned projects.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Coordinate internal and external relations necessary for project development and delivery.
- Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, and colleagues, paying special attention to field team members.
Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Promote safety at job sites, conduct site safety inspections, and ensure compliance.
- Make regular visits to job sites to assess quality, production, schedule, and safety.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Participate in reviewing and approving vendors and suppliers for project needs.
- Coordinate with Project Controls staff for project scheduling and budgeting.
Financial Support:
- Support Finance teams with due diligence and project economic models.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify, prepare, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years in energy project development, an environmental or engineering field, or a directly related field
- Renewable energy experience required, preferable on-site experience or project management experience of DG or Utility scale projects.
- Experience with design review, QA/QC, contracting, and safety are highly desired.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software including MS Project
- Knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, supply chain management, environmental and building permitting, and transportation logistics
- Basic knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes including Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), National Fire Protection Association, (NFPA), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
- Basic knowledge of land surveying methods and practices, aerial photography and mapping (including UTM and NAD coordinate systems), and geospatial references
- Ability to interpret documents produced in AutoCAD, GIS, and other discipline-relevant software
- Understanding of basic financial principles (IRR, NPV, Depreciation, etc)

- Ability to be self-motivated and perform job tasks in a relatively unstructured environment with little supervision
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to travel extensively domestically and internationally, by plane, by car, and with short notice

- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
- Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary

Salary hiring range: $100,000 - $120,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of many compensation, benefits, and other reward opportunities we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect most of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
