What you will do:

As a Wind Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and technological support on WTG systems, developing in-house know-how for technology selection, and applying it across design, construction, and operational processes for onshore wind power plants. Strong collaborator with internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring cost-effective, safe, and innovative solutions aligned with industry standards.

General responsibilities:

  1. Using state of the art knowledge of the WTG industry, perform technical analysis of the different wind turbines in the market, identifying the best models from a technological standpoint and capturing the existing technical knowledge.
  2. Keep EDPR's technical databases continuously updated with the relevant technical information (docs, specs, etc.) about all the WTG manufacturers and models with presence in EDPR onshore wind markets.
  3. Follow the WTG OEM's market evolution, trends and product roadmaps.
  4. Support the development and implementation of the technical normalization for the WTG Technology in all EDPR geographies applying the best practices of the industry, to guarantee the maximum efficiency in the construction and operation of the assets.
  5. Participate in the WTG Technology systems' technical requirements definition for the procurement processes of the WTGs and their major components of all EDPR and provide support during the tendering process to make the best selection possible.
  6. Provide technical support to the WTG RFI, RFP and contract negotiation processes managing the technological work stream.
  7. Provide WTG technology support in the due diligence processes of new projects.
  8. Collaborate closely with various departments including Procurement, Energy Assessment, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Investment Analysis, and Development.
  9. Manage the information continuously and effectively to cross-functional teams.
  10. Support regional teams in wind power plant design by collaborating closely to identify and implement the most optimized technical solutions.
  11. Support to Wind farms technical due-diligence processes.
  12. Additional duties as required.

Work site: Hybrid Model

Availability to Travel: Up to 25%.

 

What are we looking for:

1. Academic Skills:

  • University Degree and Graduate Degree (includes Master or other graduate level degrees) in Engineering or related technical field (Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • Master's degree will be a plus (or other Postgraduate studies in Renewable energies).

2. Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years (till 5 years) of relevant technical experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the wind energy sector (Engineering and/or construction of renewable energy projects).
  • Engineer with experience in wind turbine generator (WTG) technology and wind power plant designs.
  • Working knowledge of the wind turbine generator Industry from a manufacturing or construction standpoint.
  • Knowledge of the wind power industry in general.
  • Skilled in OEM qualification, techno-economic analysis, and engineering support.

3. Specific Knowledge:

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of WTG design and assessment software tools.

4. Languages:

  • Fluent Spanish and English Level (Oral and Writing) is mandatory. Other are a plus.

5. Skills:

  • Ability to perform duties in a collaborative, multi-cultural working environment.
  • High Attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly come up to speed on all technical and commercial subjects related to renewable projects through the full development life cycle and transition from development to construction and operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work productively with limited supervision.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interest in environmental issues and renewable energy.
  • Business acumen and demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work extended hours if needed.
