What you will do:

 

The Predictive Diagnostics Associate will support EDPR’s global fleet of generating assets. Your primary responsibilities are to detect, report, and document potential future failures in wind turbines, solar panels, or other electric systems and components using condition monitoring and data analytics. The primary data sources used by the analyst for that purpose are reliability data, vibration analyses, oil particles counters, lubrication condition data, and temperature data.

General responsibilities:

  1. Detect failures using EDPR’s condition monitoring tools to analyze operational data.
  2. Communicate inspection recommendations to site managers and technicians clearly and support engineering team in evaluation of such inspections/repairs.
  3. Assess asset condition post inspection/repair using existing tools and communicate accordingly.
  4. Create quarterly reports summarizing detections (priority, value, component, status, etc.) and update internal tools/databases with findings and results.
  5. Manage relationships with condition monitoring vendors.
  6. Identify new condition monitoring opportunities within EDPR's fleet and prepare business cases for their profitability. Lead project management for such opportunities.
  7. Develop or assist in creating new monitoring strategies/tools using advanced data science techniques.
  8. Collaborate with Performance Management teams using other monitoring technologies/platforms.
  9. Support and lead process improvements, quality metrics, and coordination calls as needed.
  10. Perform additional duties as required.

Availability to Travel: Up to 20%

 

What are we looking for:

 

  1. Academic Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or related field); Master's preferred.

 

  1. Professional Experience:

 

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience (less with advanced degree considered).
  • Prefer familiarity with planetary gearboxes, generators, solar, power generation, and conversion equipment.
  • Prefer familiarity with rotating equipment reliability and lubrication.

 

  1. Specific Knowledge:

 

  • Vibration Analyst Cat II certification or applied vibration analysis experience preferred.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Prefer familiarity with Python, R, Databricks, MS Azure; interest in data science/AI is a plus. Prefer familiarity with SQL and SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
