O&M Standards & Procedure Director

What you will do:

The mission of this role is to define and optimize the global O&M strategy, standards and operating model to maximize asset performance and lifecycle value, while ensuring safe, efficient and scalable execution across technologies and geographies and strong cooperation with regional teams.

1.         O&M Strategy & Standards

• Define how EDP maintains and operates its assets globally.
• Own the global O&M strategy and maintenance standards across technologies, balancing safety, availability, reliability, quality, cost and lifecycle value.
• Define global O&M methodologies, minimum requirements and technical standards, allowing for justified regional and asset-specific adaptation.
• Drive adoption and continuous improvement of O&M standards based on operational performance, field experience and technology evolution.

2.         Operating Model & Field Excellence

• Define how O&M is organized and executed in the field.

• Own and continuously optimize the global O&M operating model, including roles, responsibilities, processes, governance, interfaces and facility-management activities.
• Define the tools, processes and business requirements needed by Site Managers and field teams, ensuring their integration into global systems in coordination with Field Systems.
• Identify and deploy opportunities to simplify, standardize and automate field activities, improving productivity, data quality and operational effectiveness.

3.         O&M Contracting & Techno-Economic Optimization

• Define how O&M services are sourced and economically optimized.

• Define global O&M service models and contracting principles, including make/buy strategies, scopes of work, performance requirements and service-agreement standards.
• Lead O&M technical requirements and evaluations for transversal RFPs and support the assessment of equipment and service contracts with material post-COD implications.
• Perform techno-economic assessments of alternative maintenance and service models to optimize cost, performance and operational risk over the asset lifecycle.

4.         Asset Lifecycle & Continuous Improvement

• Drive structural improvements in O&M performance and long-term asset value.
• Lead the O&M contribution to life-extension and other strategic asset-lifecycle programs, coordinating with Technology, Asset Management and field teams.
• Identify and prioritize cross-regional improvement opportunities based on asset performance, operational experience and emerging technologies.
• Translate lessons learned and best practices into standards, methodologies and scalable solutions across the global asset base.

5.         Leadership & Interfaces

• Lead and develop the team, building strong technical and operational capabilities and promoting knowledge sharing across geographies.
• Act as the global O&M reference point across Operations, Asset Management, Technology, Procurement and regional teams, ensuring clear decision-making and effective implementation.
• Drive new and more effective ways of working, actively leveraging AI, automation and digital capabilities to simplify processes, increase team productivity, accelerate analysis and decision-making, and improve the quality and scalability of O&M activities.

What are we looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Management or a related technical field.
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Operations Management, Energy Management or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
• Extensive experience in O&M, Maintenance Strategy, Asset Management, Operations, Engineering or related technical functions within asset-intensive industries.
• Strong background in maintenance strategy definition, operating model design, technical standards and process optimization.
• Proven experience in renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, industrial operations or similar sectors.
• Experience in service agreement definition, O&M contract assessment, RFP support and technical specification development.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional and international initiatives in complex matrix organizations.
• Solid understanding of asset performance, reliability, availability, quality, safety and cost efficiency drivers.
• Previous experience managing teams and developing organizational capabilities.
• Fluent English.
• Spanish and/or Portuguese desirable.
