What you will do:

The role will mainly entail the identification, quantification, mitigation and monitoring of financial risks impacting the EDP Group across all its geographies and businesses.

The person joining the team will conduct profitability risk analysis for new investments, to assist in the development of group-wide risk policies and to support on-demand strategic analyses that will be presented directly to the company’s Top Management, providing significant internal visibility.

This job is aimed at resourceful individuals with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and presentation skills and that possess positive attitude, willingness to learn and enjoy a collaborative working environment.

 

You will be responsible for,

General responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring and analysis of financial risks and its hedging strategies: foreign exchange (FX) rates, interest rates, inflation, commodities (raw materials), among others;
  2. Tracking of EDP’s main credit rating metrics and covenants, in collaboration with the Finance department;
  3. Analysis of potential new investments from a risk-return perspective, including stressed scenario analysis for discussion in Investment Committees;
  4. Assistance in the preparation of executive reports on the main risk exposures for Top Management;
  5. Development of automated risk data collection processes;
  6. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the recurrent update, effective roll-out and backward testing of risk management policies;
  7. Ad-hoc strategic risk analyses.

What are we looking for:

1. Academic Skills:

  • University Degree and Graduate Degree (includes Master or other graduate level degrees) - degree Economics, Finance, Business Management or related field.

2. Professional Experience:

  • 0-3 years combined in risk management, energy industry, banking, management consulting and/or overall quantitative modelling or statistical analysis.

3. Specific Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of digital tools and ability to prepare interactive dashboards in Power BI is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of energy markets as well as financial market variables such as FX, interest rates and inflation is highly valued.

4. Languages:

  • English - C1
  • Spanish and Portuguese would be a plus

 5.Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Curiosity in understanding energy markets / financial market variables.
  • Structured and effective presentation/communication skills (written and oral).
  • Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills, at all organizational levels.

Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy, proactive attitude and drive to get things done in an efficient manner.
