FINANCE SENIOR ASSOCIATE

MISSION
The candidate will be expected to work in the EU Finance team. The main activities of work are: support the daily financial management of the assigned BU to him/her in order to manage business finance activities. The candidate will analyze, prepare and execute the financial processes necessary for the financial viability of the projects being the most outstanding (i) assist in the assessment of the financing alternative and conditions to determine the adequate financial structure of the projects in time both in the construction phase and in the exploitation phase, whether short term or long term, including the preparation of financial models to run sensitivities, (ii) contribute in the contractual implementation of the selected source of financing (internal or external contracts, internal or external authorizations, etc.), either via corporate finance or via project finance, (iii) support the management for determination of the necessary interest rate and currency hedges, if any, and their monitoring during the term of such hedges, (iv) preparation and reporting of the covenants associated with project financing, (v) preparation and monitoring of project cash flow forecasts, and (vi) preparation of internal and external presentations and reporting.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Support the EU Finance Direction to implement and manage the appropriated financial structure of the projects/companies, keeping in mind the following objectives:
a. Support in the definition of the potential funding scenarios and develops sensitivity analysis; highlighting impacts in terms of profitability using excel based financial models.
b. Develops specific skills in financing solutions adopted in different platforms and engages the local teams in new projects.
c. Follow-up on the project´s finance structure evolution at various stages; as described during the internal analysis, the approval process and implementation stage.
d. Responsible for supporting the scheduling activities related to the financial area (long-term funding, bridge, equity and hedging).
e. Maintaining updated relations with financial institutions and negotiations with financial institutions and other entities, if it is the case, including Due Diligence processes.
f. Assist with gathering and presenting necessary information required by the shareholders.
• Ensure the general financial management of each assigned business unit, namely
a. Perform the financial activities based in systems and processes under appropriate internal control.
b. Perform on a periodically basis the Cash Flow Forecast, towards an accurate and timely prediction of the assigned Business Units` funding needs, matched with the sources of funding and implement the necessary measures in order to mitigate deviations in relation to Budget/Forecast.
c. In coordination with the Corporate Treasury Department, supervise, evaluate and approve the cash requests issued by the assigned Business Units
d. In coordination with the Corporate Finance Department, assist on the required Credit Support for the Projects;
e. Perform on the finance activities, monitoring and reporting on financial performance, namely in relation to financial liabilities and assets, equity and financial costs or revenues.
f. Liaising with other departments, such as M&A, Legal, Tax and Accountancy, on a range of issues, including the support on the required development and finance activities to obtain necessary internal approvals for investment decisions;

REQUIRED PROFILE
1. ACADEMIC LEVEL
o Bachelor in Finance or Economics ; MBA preferred
o English: C1 or equivalent.
2. REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
o More than 2/3 years in the financial/investment/accounting department of a medium or large sized company or group
o Experience in financial modelling
o Analysis and presentation skills required
o Experience in Project Finance contracts
o As the role is at the crossroads between different areas and countries within EDPR , the candidate needs to combine a practical knowledge of financial matter with a good ability to work in teams, with an ability to adapt to a variety of situations and priorities.
o Travel Required (10%-20%)
3. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
• IT systems: Knowledge as experience user in terms of business applications, as SAP ERP, Appian. Power BI.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Power Point and Word) and Finance software (i.e. SAP)
4. LANGUAGES
• Ability to read, write, speak fluently in English (level C1 o equivalent) and Spanish; knowledgeable in reading and/or writing Portuguese a plus.
5. SKILLS / COMPETENCES
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work concurrently on multiple projects.
• High attention to detail and strong leadership skills.
• Ability to be self-motivated.
• Proven ability to learn new software programs.
