GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The mission of the Energy Storage Lead Associate is to lead the analysis of the potential target markets for storage deployment and coordinate, from a business and technical point of view, all the necessary actions for the development of the relevant storage business cases that will enable the origination and development of energy storage and hybrid Renewable + Storage plants in Europe and LatAm by the Business Units. 

The person in charge will also support the Country Business Units from the identification of opportunities to the coordination of the internal teams (technical, legal, etc) during design, financial evaluation, due diligence processes, etc; reporting to the Energy Storage Director.

We are looking for a proactive person to join EDPR for a new area of business with good growing expectations and challenges ahead. 

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

-    Monitor new technical developments, technologies and business models in energy storage and hybrid power plants. 
-    Analysis of market trends, business models and competitivity parameters of storage projects in Europe and LatAm.
-    Lead the definition and approval of the business models for the target markets under his/her responsibility. 
-    Monitor, improve and extend Business Models when needed (new technologies, utilization,  configurations,…).
-    Provide Energy Storage Business Domain knowledge and collaborate in the development of optimization models for energy storage with the data scientists from the storage analytics team.
-    Support the Country Business Units during Due Diligence and Development of energy storage plants.
-    Monitor and review new regulatory or legislative developments in energy storage and hybrid power plants in European and LatAm markets and identify future business opportunities and impacts.
-    Support the Energy Storage Director in Sectoral Associations and other organizations and lead work groups and/or other transversal initiatives. 


REQUIREMENTS: 

REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILLS:  

Bachelors Degree: Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Physics or similar.
Master in Renewables or electricity markets will be a plus.
Languages: Proficient English. Other EU language desirable.
Tools: Microsoft office suite
Valuable knowledge of Visualization tools such as Power BI.


REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 

•    At least 5 years of experience in the energy sector. 
•    Experience in a power development environment, with good understanding of power markets. 
•    Deep knowledge of renewable energies/energy storage technologies and their business cases.
