What you will do:

As a Data and Models Associate will support the Performance Management & Intelligence team by developing, maintaining, and improving data products, analytical models, automation processes, indicators, and dashboards used across EDPR’s global renewable generation fleet.

This role will work with operational data from wind, solar, and BESS assets to improve visibility into asset performance, support monitoring activities, enable predictive diagnostics, and strengthen data-driven decision-making. The position requires a strong technical foundation in data engineering, analytics, automation, and visualization, combined with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

General responsibilities:

  1. Develop, maintain, and improve data products, tools, dashboards, indicators, models, automations, and data pipelines supporting various monitoring activities within the department.

 

  1. Build and enhance analytical techniques, indicators, and models using statistical analysis, anomaly detection, machine learning, predictive modelling and other advanced data science methods.

 

  1. Explore, develop, and support agentic AI use cases and workflows that improve monitoring efficiency, automate repetitive analysis, enhance diagnostics, and support scalable decision-making.

 

  1. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing tools, models, dashboards, and automated processes to ensure reliability, scalability, and business value.

 

  1. Support the integration of new data sources and improve data engineering processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of team activities.
  2. Collaborate internally within Performance Management and externally with IT/Digital Global Unit, SCADA/Operational Technology teams, and external vendors on data quality, data governance, digitalization, AI, and advanced analytics initiatives.

 

  1. Catalog and document key data products, tools, dashboards, and analytical processes used within the department.

 

  1. Ensure the availability, integrity, and quality of operational data from sources such as SCADA, condition monitoring, maintenance, fault, lubrication, temperature, and other asset-related systems.

 

  1. Provide training and technical support to team members on data tools, models, dashboards, and automated workflows.

 

  1. Stay current with emerging data science, machine learning, automation, visualization, agentic AI, and digital tools that can enhance team capabilities.

 

  1. Additional duties as required

What are we looking for:

1. Academic Skills:

  • University Degree and Graduate Degree (includes Master or other graduate level degrees) in Engineering or similar field (Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a related technical field).

2. Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years (till 6 years) of relevant technical experience (less experience considered for advanced degree).
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data visualization solutions. Experience with big data analytics and cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: data engineering, scalable machine learning, advanced analytics, anomaly detection, predictive modelling, dashboard automation, or agentic AI applications.
  • Experience working with historians, databases, or platforms containing high-volume time-series data.
  • Familiarity with wind turbine, solar PV, or BESS operations and associated SCADA, maintenance, and condition-monitoring datasets.
  • Experience collaborating with IT, SCADA, operations, engineering, or external technology vendors.

3. Specific Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with SQL and Python or R.
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for developing dashboards, reports, or data visualization solutions.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

4. Languages:

  • Fluent Spanish and English Level (Oral and Writing) is mandatory. Other are a plus.

5. Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated
  • Strong interest in data science, machine learning and/or automation processes and driven to keep up with the latest developments in related field
  • Ability to perform job tasks in a collaborative working environment
  • Ability to work well independently, manage time and tasks.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Strong time-management skills including demonstrated ability to provide technical support for multiple concurrent activities
  • Ability to comprehend and apply a variety of subjects relating to wind and solar energy, including meteorology, aerodynamics, and electrical and mechanical systems
  • Exemplary standards of integrity, ethics, safety, quality, and productivity
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, including possession of a valid driver’s license.
