Senior Data Platforms Architect

The Global Digital Data Arch & Engineering CoE is looking to recruit a Senior Data Platforms Architect. As a Senior Data Platforms Architect, you will define and evolve the architecture of EDP's enterprise data ecosystem - enabling analytics, AI, and digital transformation at scale. You'll design future-proof, secure, and interoperable data platforms aligned with EDP's Data & Analytics Reference Architecture and data governance framework.
What you will do:
- Design and maintain EDP's enterprise-wide data platform reference architecture.
- Lead the adoption of cloud solutions with modern data lakehouse architectures and integration with business data domains.
- Define reference models and standards ensuring interoperability and compliance.
- Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and business teams to align architecture with enterprise strategy.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Kafka).
- Drive architectural governance, performance optimization, and platform security.
- Mentor engineering teams and promote best practices in data solutions design and operations

What are we looking for:
- Degree, Master's, or Doctorate in engineering or related field.
- 5+ years in data architecture, platform engineering, or solution design.
- Proven experience with cloud-native data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP)- Strong background in Databricks, Spark, Data Factory and data modeling.
- Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and security (GDPR).
- Skilled in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Bicep), and DevOps for data.
- Preferred:
- Experience with data mesh, ML Ops, and FinOps.
- Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Databricks Certified Data Architect.
- Excellent autonomy, communication and collaboration abilities.
