R&D Specialist

Our Client Solutions R&D unit is looking for an R&D Specialist.
What you will do:
Participate in international Research & Development (R&D) projects focused on Client Solutions, contributing to the development, demonstration and scale-up of innovative solutions for the energy transition, particularly in the areas of industrial electrification, distributed resources (e.g. PV, e-mobility), energy communities, and energy flexibility. Key activities include:
- Contributing to the technical implementation of European R&D projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, technical reporting and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing technical specifications, use cases, system architectures and project reports.
- Supporting laboratory, pilot and field validation activities, including the monitoring of demonstrators and coordination with field teams, when applicable.
- Assessing the technical and economic feasibility of innovative solutions, including business cases, techno-economic models and new business models.
- Supporting the preparation of new project proposals and funding applications, including technical concept development, consortium building, proposal writing and budget negotiation.
- Developing knowledge, methodologies and tools to support EDP business units and contribute to international engineering consultancy projects and service provisions related to Client Solutions and energy transition topics.
- Contributing to the development of EDP's expertise in industrial electrification, distributed energy resources, energy communities and flexibility solutions.

What are we looking for:
- Master or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Energy and Environmental Engineering or closely related academic areas with relevant energy-related coursework.
- Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas: Industrial Electrification, Energy Flexibility, Energy Communities, or Distributed Energy Resources (e.g. BIPV, AgriPV, e-mobility, etc...)
- Capacity to execute and deliver rigorous and well-balanced results in a timely manner, combined with a flexibility and agility to work on various themes/projects
- International mindset and excellent knowledge and use of English (in written and oral expression)
- A great team spirit, openness and ability to interact daily with internal and external stakeholders on various topics
- Knowledge on data analysis and programming;
- Good domain of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, Word, Power Point
- Availability for short-term international trips (within the scope of the projects)
- Immense motivation, strong desire to learn, curiosity and a taste for challenging ideas and proposing new solutions
