Occupational Safety and Health Specialist

The Safety, Security & Environment team at EDP GBS is strengthening its team by hiring a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician.
What you will do:
Workplace Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and document occupational risks (physical, chemical, ergonomic, psychosocial, etc.).
- Conduct periodic inspections and internal safety audits in the workplace and write the corresponding reports.
- Propose and implement preventive and corrective measures.
Prepare technical reports and update risk maps.
- Emergency Preparedness and Response:
- Design and maintain an up-to-date Emergency and Self-Protection Plan.
- Coordinate evacuation drills and contingency plans.
- Train and organize internal emergency brigades.
- Establish communication protocols with external services (fire department, civil protection, medical emergencies).
Legal and Documentary Compliance:
- Manage mandatory documentation related to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
- Periodically assess legal compliance.
- Keep up to date with regulatory changes and adapt internal procedures.
- Participate in and attend labor inspections and audits (internal/external).
Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver training on OSH.
- Participate in the induction and preventive integration of new employees.
Physical and Property Security:
- Supervise surveillance and access control systems.
- Develop and implement physical and property security plans.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to protect property and inst

What are we looking for:
- Higher Education in Occupational Safety and Health / master’s degree in occupational safety and health - or equivalent.
- Professional experience between 3 and 5 years in a role involving planning, implementing, and supervising preventive activities with an emphasis on occupational risk management, physical and property security, and emergency preparedness and response, ensuring compliance with current Portuguese legislation and promoting a safe and healthy working environment in a corporate context (administrative offices).
- Advanced user of Office (especially data processing).
- Good level of English.
- Availability to travel / Driver's license.
- Capacity to execute and deliver rigorous and well-balanced results in a timely manner, combined with a flexibility and agility to work on various projects.
