The DGU IT OT Arch. CoE is looking to recruit a Cloud Expert.

What you will do:

 

The Cloud Expert for Cloud Development Competence Center will lead a team of platform and subject matter experts on the main cloud providers services, products and application development best practices. This role involves managing the research and development of new cloud services and technologies, as well as assisting the product teams in the design of cloud-native solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence in cloud development, ensuring that our IT and OT developments on the cloud are at the forefront of industry standards.

  • Lead a team of platform and subject matter experts, in managing the main cloud providers;
  • Act as the organizations' key go-to person/ area regarding the latest Cloud technologies and trends, and how those can be adopted;
  • Drive Cloud Strategy across the organization, in strict alignment with technology and business requirements;
  • Articulate with other departments Cloud development strategies, considering business strategy and goals;
  • Support product teams in scoping and designing of Cloud-native solutions;
  • Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA would be a plus;
  • Proven experience in a leading role within a Cloud development environment;
  • Extensive knowledge and track record in dealing with the main Cloud providers, such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure;
  • Familiarity with Cloud-native solutions, and latest Cloud technologies and trends;
  • Strong understanding of the business implications of Cloud technologies;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically;
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in cloud computing technologies and platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure);
    • Experience with cloud-native solutions and architectures;
    • Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD practices;
    • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes;
    • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc.);
    • Understanding of network architectures and data storage solutions.
  • This role requires strong collaboration with various teams, including solution architects, development, operations, and business teams. The successful candidate will need to maintain strong relationships with cloud service providers and stay connected with the broader cloud development community to keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies. Excellent communication skills are essential, as this role involves explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
