What you will do

The Safety and Quality Intern will support our department’s focus on human performance factor methodology to help drive continuous improvement across all business lines. The Safety, Security, Quality and Business Continuity (SSQBC) department contributes to the success of EDP Renewables NA (EDP NA) by ensuring regulatory compliance and implementing a proactive approach toward worker safety and quality across multiple locations.

Role Overview:

Main responsibilities:

Main Accountabilities: 

  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of Human Performance principles to improve safety and quality outcomes. 
  • Participate in field observations, interviews, and assessments to understand workforce challenges and opportunities. 
  • Stay up to date and recommend industry best practices in human performance, safety, and quality management. 
  • Review SAP work orders to correlate tasks with safety incidents and identify trends in severe events. 
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of incident reports, near misses, and operational data to pinpoint risk factors and areas for improvement. 
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and develop actionable insights and recommendations for improvement from data collected across multiple sources 
  • Support safety and quality initiatives related to BESS operations 
  • Additional duties as required

What are we looking for

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, human factors and ergonomics, industrial engineering or in a related field or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Understanding of data analytics tools 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate findings effectively. 
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, risk management principles, and human performance methodologies is a plus.  
  • Familiarity with SQL, PowerBi and Microsoft products and/or complementing products is a plus 
  • Experience with SAP work order systems is a plus 
  • Support safety and quality initiatives related to BESS operations. 

Travel:

10% to a local site
