What you will do

Role Overview:

The Energy Assessment Analyst will provide support to the Energy Assessment Manager with modeling activities for wind projects in order to analyze and optimize wind power production.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the development of tools using Python, SQL, and R studio that will be used to analyze the performance of operational wind and solar plants. 
  • Assist in conducting operational assessments of wind and solar plants 
  • Develop programs that streamline the process of creating reports. 
  • Manage SQL server for uploading new data and updating tables. 
  • Machine Learning and big data tools. 
  • Performance test for wind and solar plants acceptance 
  • Provide analytical support for operating project assessments including power improvement calculations or energy losses calculations. 
  • Additional duties as required.

What are we looking for

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Meteorology, or a related field 
  • 0 – 3 years performing energy assessments 
  • Knowledge of SQL, R Studio, or Python 
  • Knowledge of Wind and/or Solar energy industry (data analysis, performance verification, loss evaluation). 
  • Knowledge of Windographer or PVsyst a plus 
  • Experience with data management 
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred 

Travel:

Up to 10%

  • Ability to multi-task and work concurrently on multiple projects 
  • High attention to details and ability to be self-motivated 
  • Proven ability to learn new software programs 

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment 
  • Speech/Reading:  Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form 
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds  
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form 
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
