What you will do:

The mission of this role is to maximize the performance and value of the operating asset portfolio by defining and driving a consistent Asset Management framework, ensuring strong operational and financial performance, disciplined lifecycle management and effective decision-making across technologies and geographies.

 

Asset Management Model & Governance

  • Define how EDP manages and governs its operating assets.
  • Own and continuously evolve the global Asset Management operating model, including standards, processes, governance, roles and decision-making frameworks.
  • Ensure consistent application of Asset Management methodologies across regions and technologies, while allowing appropriate adaptation to local and asset-specific requirements.
  • Drive simplification, standardization and continuous improvement of Asset Management processes, embedding best practices and lessons learned across the organization.

Performance & Financial Management

  • Drive visibility, accountability and action on asset performance and value.
  • Own the Asset Management framework for O&M OPEX and CAPEX planning, forecasting and performance monitoring, ensuring alignment between operational priorities, asset needs and financial targets.
  • Drive global O&M P&L performance management in close coordination with FP&A and regional teams, identifying deviations, trends, risks and opportunities and ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Strengthen forecasting accuracy and forward-looking performance management, enabling early identification of operational and financial risks and value-creation opportunities.
  • Promote strong financial discipline and performance accountability across the operating portfolio.

Asset Lifecycle, Risk & Transactions

  • Protect asset value through key lifecycle events, risks and ownership transitions.
  • Lead the Asset Management contribution to strategic lifecycle topics, including End of Warranty, End of Contract, life extension, insurance, claims, safety-related risks and decommissioning.
  • Own the operational Asset Management framework for asset rotations, acquisitions, divestments and handovers, ensuring operational continuity and protection of asset value.
  • Lead the Asset Management contribution to MSA and TSA definition, negotiation and implementation, working with M&A, Asset Rotation, Legal and Operations through signing, closing and transition.
  • Ensure material lifecycle and contractual risks are identified early, appropriately valued and incorporated into asset-level decision-making.

Cost Intelligence & Value Optimization

  • Build the cost intelligence required to make better asset and investment decisions.
  • Own and continuously improve global O&M cost models and OPEX estimation methodologies, ensuring robust and consistent inputs for investment decisions, business planning, transactions and operational optimization.
  • Develop benchmarks and analytical frameworks to identify cost-performance gaps and optimization opportunities across technologies, regions and operating models.
  • Provide robust lifecycle cost insights, including decommissioning and salvage-value assessments, supporting investment, accounting and corporate planning requirements.
  • Translate operational and financial data into actionable insights that improve asset economics and lifecycle value.

Leadership & Interfaces

  • Lead and develop the Asset Management team, building strong commercial, financial and operational capabilities, promoting knowledge sharing and developing talent across geographies.
  • Act as the global Asset Management reference point across Operations, FP&A, Technology, Procurement, M&A, Asset Rotation, Legal and regional teams, enabling integrated and timely decision-making.
  • Drive new and more effective ways of working, actively leveraging AI, automation and digital capabilities to increase productivity, automate recurring analysis and reporting, strengthen forecasting and risk identification, and accelerate data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, financial discipline, continuous improvement and value creation, continuously challenging existing practices and focusing the organization on the activities that create the greatest asset value.

What are we looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Asset Management, Energy Management or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in Asset Management, Operations, Operational Excellence, Finance or related functions within asset-intensive industries.
  • Strong background in budget management, financial analysis, OPEX/CAPEX planning and performance management.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional and international initiatives in complex matrix organizations.
  • Experience in renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure or industrial sectors is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, governance and strategic decision-making processes.
  • Previous experience managing teams and developing organizational capabilities.
  • Fluent English.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese desirable.

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment

  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form
