REGULATIONS LEAD ASSOCIATE

MISION
Development of Regulation assessment tasks, for EDPR UK through the delivery of analysis needed for company’s strategic decisions in terms of organisational energy portfolio, investment decisions, budget, and business plan definition.
Representation of EDPR in the different RES Associations and developing lobbying strategic capabilities. Navigation of the regulatory regime—whether it be REMIT, grid connections/network industry codes, renewable support mechanisms, or energy supply—and closely following industry trends related to legislation, guidelines, and recommendations.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
A. Understanding the regulations governing mature and new technologies (i.e. onshore wind, solar PV, battery storage and hydrogen).
B. CfD auctions: Ensuring a smooth and efficient participation in the Allocation Rounds:
1. Contacts with relevant stakeholders concerning special inquiries/questions/interpretations;
2. Leading auctions processes: prequalification, registering, coordination of bank guarantees/deposits;
3. Managing bidding process, including project registration, ensuring connections, bid verification, offer submission.
4. Ensure all post auction processes, including bank guarantees/deposits withdrawn, reporting.
5. Managing processes related to Generation Licenses (obtaining new / adjusting existing ones)
C. Regulatory/ Lobbying; Helping organizations navigate regulatory changes, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities to influence policy development:
1. Through the presence in renewable energy and storage associations, elaborate wording proposal of regulatory adjustments supporting wind PV and storage sectors, and responding to the market consultations, such as DESNZ and OFGEM consultations.
2. Understand and closely monitor changes of the industry regulation, including:
i. Energy Code Reform Planning guidelines and laws
ii. Generation License
iii. Energy Market reforms
iv. Grid connection scheme
3. Elaborate periodical information to internal stakeholders concerning regulatory status and expected evaluation.
4. Build and maintain relations with key stakeholders, including government decision makers and key administration officers
5. Active participation (preparation and presentation of position supporting RES sector development) in governmental and commissions.
D. Market Participation: Assisting renewable energy projects (including BESS projects) to comply with grid codes and participate in energy markets effectively.
REQUIRED PROFILE
1. ACADEMIC LEVEL
Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Economics
2. REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years in Strategy or Management Consulting (in energy area) or in an industrial company in departments linked to strategy, energy planning, regulation, or trading.
Prior work with or membership in renewable energy associations, such as industry advocacy groups, standards organisations, or policy bodies.
3. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
Grid Reform Knowledge: Possess a functional understanding of grid terminology, codes, and standards, with the ability to navigate and adapt to regulatory changes effectively.
Professional Network: Established relationships with key stakeholders in the renewable energy sector, including policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and association representatives.
Leverage Opportunities: Ability to connect with and utilize these contacts for partnerships, advocacy efforts, or strategic initiatives.

5. SKILLS / COMPETENCES
Strong analytical skills; Knowledge of electricity sector and regulatory functioning. Curious and with strong willingness to learn, with attention to detail.
