M&A INVESTMENTS ASSOCIATE
MISSION
Analyze and collaborate in the execution of strategic investments (organic & M&A projects) for the group in Europe and Brazil, according to the instructions of the Head of the area or department Director, and in compliance with the objectives of the EDPR Business Plan.
Facilitate communication with EDP (especially with DAN) and the rest of the Business and Corporate Areas of EDPR, and generate information for decision making.
Is able to coordinate and prepare with solvency NBO’s and Board Documentation.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1- Analyzes Greenfield Projects from economic risk and strategic perspectives.
2- Performs valuations and creates investment memorandums (require conducting valuations of renewable energy projects).
3- Provides summaries of analyses and other information to the Investment Analysis Manager and the Executive Committee of EDPR.
4- Supports the analysis and execution of M&A transactions in targeted countries and those in which EDPR currently has a presence.
5- Supports due diligence processes.
6- Ensures that all investments analyzed are evaluated using objective and homogeneous criteria and in accordance with the investment approval procedures of EDPR.
7- Assists with strategic analysis projects.
8- Assists the Investment Analysis Manager with all tasks and projects as needed.
9- Additional duties as required.
REQUIRED PROFILE
1- Required education:
- Masters degree in Business, Finance or Engineering with finance masters.
2- Languages:
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Spanish and Portuguese preferred.
- Other languages such as French and Italian are valued.
3- Professional experience:
- Two years in finance or more than 1 year if experience is M&A specific related to the energy industry.
4- Required knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of valuation and accounting processes.
- Knowledge of the utility/energy industry, including PPA, industry. trends, development activities, and operation processes.
- Ability to coordinate processes and data gathering for the preparation and coordination of valuation and board documentation.
5- Other requirements:
