REGULATION & MARKETS LEAD ASSOCIATE (regulatory analysis focus)

MISSION

Contribute to develop EDPR vision of the electricity markets and regulatory frameworks and develop analysis to support strategic decisions.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Market Analysis - Monitor the regulatory and electricity market environment in existing EDPR Europe geographies (being responsible for several of them) and potential new geographies:

1. Perform of price and remuneration forecasts for electricity (and green attributes when applicable) for those geographies, including in the context of project-specific due-diligences
2. Follow up regulatory developments with impact on company operations.
3. Propose and conduct with the support of the team the necessary analysis to quantify the impacts on the portfolio of EDPR of different regulatory proposals both at national and European (EU) level to assess risks and opportunities.

2. Regulatory Assessment and Support in Advocacy Tasks:

1. Support EDPR active role in European and national industry associations by participating in working groups.
2. Develop position papers in respect key regulatory topics for the company, prepare responses to different consultations (both at national and EU level).
3. Support local regulatory and advocacy leads in the definition of regulatory positioning, technical analysis and benchmarking across EDPR geograhies

REQUIRED PROFILE

1. ACADEMIC LEVEL

• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration

2. REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE  

• At least 6 years in an industrial/consulting company in a similar role or in departments linked to strategy, regulation or energy planning

3. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of electricity sector and regulatory functioning.
• Regulated remuneration schemes/PPAs modelling

4. LANGUAGES

• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Other EU language is a plus

5. SKILLS / COMPETENCES

• Strong analytical skills, well-rounded modelling capabilities
• Proficient communication skills
• Experience participating in sectorial associations (EU and/or National level) is a plus
