The Structuring & Origination team at GEM Europe is looking to reinforce its capabilities. We are seeking a dynamic, analytical, and collaborative profile to join our team, contributing to the structuring, negotiation and execution of long-term energy contracts (PPAs), particularly in the Iberian market.

 

 

What you will do:

Support the identification, structuring and negotiation of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other long-term commercial solutions, ensuring strategic alignment between upstream energy supply and downstream client needs.

The role requires close coordination with internal teams (pricing, risk, legal, market access, BO, etc.) and external stakeholders, providing technical and commercial input throughout the deal lifecycle.

  • Support the origination and structuring of long-term PPAs in Iberia (Spain & Portugal), both with external clients and internal counterparties (e.g. EDPR).
  • Contribute to the risk assessment, pricing, and term sheet definition of structured energy transactions.
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory and market trends impacting long-term energy contracting.
  • Coordinate with legal teams to tailor standard templates or structure bespoke contracts as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (such as PO-Pricing, Legal, Risk, Back Office, Market Access, and Retail) to ensure consistent alignment and timely execution of transactions.
  • Maintain the Origination Platform (e.g. registration of prices, status tracking).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal tools, methodologies and reporting.

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering, Management, Information Systems, or similar areas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, ideally in energy markets, structured products, corporate procurement, risk management or similar fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Good understanding of power markets and long-term contracts (e.g., PPAs, hedging structures).
  • Communication and negotiation skills with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive, curious, and willing to work in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of pricing models, risk methodologies or regulatory frameworks is a plus.
