Market Modeling Senior Specialist

EDP GEM Portugal, S. A. is looking to strengthen its team by hiring a Market Modeling Senior Specialist.

What you will do:

• Develop and implement forecasting models for commodities markets, including energy production, demand, and price forecasting
• Design and implement trading strategies for commodities markets
• Work with structured and unstructured data to support operational optimization
• Support the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and analytical models
• Participate in model validation, testing, and performance monitoring activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, data, and business areas
• Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement of data and system architectures
• Stay up to date with advancements in energy systems modelling, forecasting techniques, and digital energy platforms

What are we looking for:

• 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience
• University Degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related scientific fields
• Strong experience in the implementation of forecasting models (energy production, demand, or market forecasting)
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience working with complex datasets
• Experience in energy markets, renewable energy systems, or system operations is highly valued
• Familiarity with data pipelines, system integration, and applied modelling techniques
• Programming experience in Python or similar languages
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments combining engineering, data, and business perspectives
• Fluency in English; other languages are a plus
