The Thermal Lares and Ribatejo are looking to recruit an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist.

 

What you will do:

  • Integrated into occupational safety activities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and providing technical guidance to professionals in the field and other relevant entities.
  • Development and implementation of professional risk assessment processes, as well as specific prevention and protection plans required by current legislation.
  • Ensuring the implementation, maintenance, and certification of the Integrated Management System for Health and Occupational Safety (SST - Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho), in accordance with ISO 45001:2019, through the coordination of activities and execution of actions from the Integrated.
  • Environment and Safety Management Programs, aiming at continuous improvement.
  • Implementation of objectives, indicators, and targets related to SST and environmental performance.
  • Collaboration and supervision in the implementation of defined SST routines.
  • Operational monitoring in coordination with the Lares and Ribatejo Thermal Power Plants, ensuring compliance with best practices in health and occupational safety.
  • Conducting studies, technical visits, and regular monitoring of safety conditions.
  • Participation in audits, internal and external inspections, and legal compliance assessments, with the aim of identifying non-conformities and incidents, as well as supporting the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaboration in various emergency response activities, including conducting drills and requesting periodic inspections.
  • Implementation, coordination, and supervision of on-site safety actions in accordance with the Legal.
  • Regime for Fire Safety in Buildings (RJ-SCIE), acting as Safety Delegate and in alignment with Self-Protection Measures.
  • Participation in the investigation and analysis of work accidents or occupational diseases, contributing to the definition and application of corrective and preventive measures.
  • Acting as SST Coordinator in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Ensuring the execution of measurement, inspection, and certification campaigns for risks associated with specific work locations (e.g., noise, indoor air quality, radon, vibrations, electromagnetic fields) and equipment (e.g., fall protection, fire-fighting systems), in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Experience with reporting tools and SST management software (e.g., SAP EHS, eGestiona, Cority, or equivalents).
  • Promotion of internal training and awareness initiatives aimed at employees and external service providers.

What are we looking for:

  • Degree in Engineering with mandatory CCP TSST (Level VI), or Higher Education in Occupational Health.
  • Professional experience: more than 5 years, mandatory as a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician.Valued qualifications: Internal Auditor Course in ISO 45001:2019 and/or ISO 14001:2015.
  • Proven knowledge in: Risk analysis and control techniques / Occupational Health and Safety / Safety inspection and audit methodologies / Occupational safety legislation.
  • Familiarity with the current normative and regulatory framework.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, proactivity, and leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Results-oriented, with a strong focus on compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach.
  • Teamwork skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Resilience and effective stress management.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Experience with SAP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and English (mandatory).
  • Valid driving license (mandatory). Availability to travel frequently between Lares and Ribatejo Power Plant.
