Mission |
The Performance Improvement Specialist develops and monitors performance indicators to detect and resolve long-term, holistic issues impacting overall fleet performance of wind and solar assets and provide insights on the cause of the issues. The Specialist will perform analytical root cause analysis of underperformance detections and support on solution creation process in coordination with engineering teams. Manages the resolution of detected issues and communicates statuses with Asset Operations and Performance Management departments. Coordinates with global team members in North America and Europe.
Main Accountabilities |
- Collaborate on the development of new indicators and methods for long-term, holistic issues detection impacting the overall fleet performance. Implements processes to improve accuracy of detections.
- Develop reporting capabilities and create interactive business intelligence (BI) reports to support monitoring efforts.
- Collaborate on providing insights to the engineering teams and leadership on the causes of holistic underperformance.
- Prioritize the management of the detected issues, create accountability to track resolution and added value.
- Ensure quality control of performance datasets by confirming accuracy against original sources, checking for errors manually and automatically, and updating datasets regularly.
- Maintain relationship with Asset Managers and managers of operating sites, enabling successful plant operations by providing timely detections and escalating issues and opportunities identified.
- Collaborate on the performance of root cause analysis (RCA) of detections with Engineering and Operations teams.
- Work as part of a global team, supporting initiatives that enhance the group’s capabilities and performance.
- Program queries in SQL, PI, Azure databases and Databricks to capture data for analysis.
- Support integration of new assets/sites into existing tools and processes by following standard database management practices.
- Additional duties as required.
Required Profile |
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 1 - 3 years’ work experience, preferably in renewable energy or related field.
- High level of English. Other languages, such as Portuguese, French, etc will be valued.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
- Programming experience with SQL, Python, or R preferred.
- Knowledge in PowerBI programming.
- Experience with big data analytics and cloud computing is highly desirable.
(Azure & Data bricks, Tableau)
- Experience with ChatGPT and AI development will be highly valued.
- Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (preferred).
- Experience with technical analysis and RCA is highly desirable.

- Ability to comprehend and apply a variety of subjects relating to wind and solar energy, including meteorology, aerodynamics, and electrical and mechanical systems.
