Part of Global Risk department of #4 renewable producer in the world, developing analyses required for company’s strategic decisions, aligning risk appetite of the company with strategy in new investments and operating assets. Great opportunity to work and learn from a group of qualified professionals (ex-management consultants).




1. Making part of the Global Risk Group at EDP Renewables, preparation of Risk Committees held every month and presentation in front of the Top Management of the company, covering the following items

  • Mitigation of electricity price risk (electricity price, Green certificate prices, etc.)
  • Monitor merchant exposure of brown power and basis (US), together with hedge ratio of both exposures through financial swaps and FTRs at EDPR Global level.
  • Liquidity risk assessment.
  • Definition, implementation and backward testing of risk policies.
  • On-demand strategic analysis.

2. Risk support to EDPR Origination Department:

  • Structuring of PPAs: Physical/Financial, shape, optionality, tenor, delivery through transmission, etc 4. Risk support to EDPR Market Operations Department:
  • Risk models for hedging commodities and congestion
  • Risk models for scheduling

5. Propose imporvements to market risk procedures.

6. Create content of Risk Committee held with Management Team

7. Automation of Market Risk monitoring in EDPR (SQL, PowerBI, etc) 





University Degree on Engineering, Maths, Physics, Business Administration or Economics. Excellent Academic Record. 2. REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 0-2 years 3.



  • Statistics (MBA a plus) • Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT)
  • Business Intelligence tools • SQL, R, Python



  • English - Fluent •
  • Spanish and Portuguese (a plus)



  • Good analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Good team worker within and outside department
