This person will o​riginate and negotiate opportunities for offsite PPAs in Asia-Pacific and play a key role in EDPR’s strategy definition as well as FID process for new renewable energy projects in the region. This position carries a significant responsibility and internal visibility in a rapidly growing arm of the EDPR Group. It is aimed at resourceful individuals with high attention to detail, strong communication skills and analytical mindset. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review energy-related contracts such as term sheets, full-form PPAs or market representation contracts to ensure best commercial terms and profitable pricing are reached. 

  • Lead PPA negotiations process to a successful and efficient PPA agreement closure within expected timeline 

  • Manage the negotiation process by coordinating internal multi-disciplinary teams including Project Development, Investment and M&A or Energy Assessment 

  • Drive strategies to build and evaluate opportunities from a tactical and financial point of view with the goal to expand sales pipeline by generating high quality leads.  

  • Establish client relationships and frequently interact with existing partners. 

  • Lead quantitative analysis to determine pricing, risk exposure and simplified NPV calculations. 

  • Provide expert insights and updates regarding potential and on-going PPA projects to EDPR Top Management and/or clients and partners for strategic decision making through structured presentations containing key information. 

  • Develop and drive market strategies through routes-to-market research for renewable energy projects in different countries including competition, industry trends, emerging customer challenges, and changes in the marketplace. 

Requirements:

  • Degree with minimum 6 years of direct experience in offsite PPA origination from client outreach to commercial process and PPA negotiation; 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; 

  • Structured and effective presentation/communication skills (written and oral); 

  • Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills at all organizational levels as well as in client facing settings; 

  • Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy, proactive attitude and drive to get things done; 

  • Proficiency in Office is strictly required (Word, Excel and Power Point); 

  • Willingness to travel.
